Spring Has Sprung

Colleen McCall is a full-time studio potter and teaching artist in Elmira, New York. She has an obsession with color and tolerates winter by painting vibrant floral patterns on her handmade pottery from her underground home based studio. Spring is by far her favorite season. “I love observing the gentle reemergence of color to our world and anticipating the next garden bloom.” Her inspiration varies from natural realistic blooms to stylized abstract florals. Vintage textiles, wall coverings and historical depictions of flowers from all over the world are all part of the mix to create fresh functional heirloom quality dinnerware, home and garden decor.

In addition to my online shop I’m a long time member of Handwork, an Artisan Coop in Ithaca, NY. Upcoming shows include the Elmira Handmade Market on Saturday, July 31 at the Community Arts of Elmira from 10am-5pm. Next up is the Ithaca Artist Market on Friday, August 13 from 12pm-7:30pm, located where the Ithaca Farmers Market usually takes place. On Saturday, August 28 at the Rockwell Museum is the Trunk Show (the rain date is August 29). Hope to see some of you at one of these events soon!
